Part-Time Electrical Inspector

Houghton County is currently accepting applications for a part-time Electrical Inspector.

The Primary areas of responsibility for an electrical inspector are to enforce Michigan State laws relative to electrical installations performed by all building owners and contractors in the County of Houghton and to comply with the National Electrical Code regulations. Work assignments are combined in the field of electrical equipment and materials, installation and public relations. Work is performed under the supervision of the Building Official.

Inspect electric wiring on new construction, alterations and additions to existing buildings.

Make inspections of new wiring and electrical installations in dwellings, commercial buildings, industrial plants, public and other buildings.

Study and check blueprints presented for review by contractors for compliance with State and National standards.

Verify that all electrical installation and construction work is done in compliance.

Prepare reports and keep records.

Perform related work as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills -
Thorough knowledge of the materials, methods, and techniques of electrical installations of all types.

Licenses Required: Possession of Master Electrician License

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney - Houghton County

Duties: The responsibilities of an Assistant Prosecutor include: the analysis of warrant requests; conducting pretrial conferences, bench trials and jury trials; and any other duties as assigned by the Prosecuting Attorney and Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Caseload will
include matters in probate and family court, and both misdemeanor and felony cases.

Requirements: Must be licensed by the State Bar of Michigan. Applicants that have sat for the July 2022 Bar Exam are eligible to apply, but employment is conditioned upon passing the Bar and Character and Fitness.

Financial Information: $55,990.00 - $69,051.00, depending on experience level, plus benefits

Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney—Houghton County

Prosecuting attorney, help direct the activities of the assistant prosecuting attorney and
support staff; assist the Prosecuting Attorney in the administrative functions of the office; the
analysis of warrant requests; conducting pretrial conferences, bench trials and jury trials; and
any other duties as assigned by the Prosecuting Attorney. Caseload will include matters in
probate and family court, and both misdemeanor and felony cases.
