Probate Court has jurisdiction of all estates, guardianships, conservatorships, developmentally disabled individuals, and mental illnesses. Filing information and forms are available at the State Court website, http://courts.michigan.gov  

Estates: $150.00 filing fee; $20.00 petition/claim fee; $20.00 accounting fee; and, inventory fee based on value of estate.

Small Estates: (Estates under $15,000) $25.00 filing fee, and inventory fee based on value of estate.

Guardianships: (Adults and minors) $150.00 filing fee; annual report required not subject to additional filing fees; physician’s report required.

Guardianships: (Developmentally Disabled Individual) No fees; mental health/ physician’s report required.

Conservatorships: (Adults and minors) $150.00 filing fee; annual account required with $15.00 filing fee; physician’s report required.

Mental Illness: All petitions must be approved by Prosecuting Attorney prior to filing with court; no fees.

Wills: $25.00 safekeeping filing fee.

General: Genealogy: $20.00 search fee - records from 1872 forward

Copying fees: (any record) $1.00 per page.
